Nickelodeon Records opened at 3335 Adams Avenue in San Diego in 1984 when Ruth and Elizabeth combined their expertise, and it has sold only vinyl ever since, plus Oscar's Drive-In and Nickelodeon t-shirts. Both owners are over 72, which by their own account makes them mean, knowledgeable about records, excellent graders of condition and fair pricers. They see value in buying record collections and put strong emphasis on the unusual in both artists and cover art: behind the Music for Dining section sits a Smoking Section where every artist is pictured with a cigarette. Specialties are folk, rock, 45s and soundtracks, and want lists are welcome.
