The Oldies Shop has been home for Bern record people since 1981, when Daniel Hahn typed up a list of records he had gone off and posted it out as a small catalogue. Daniel Binggeli was in by the second catalogue, and in 1986 the pair opened Bern's first purely second-hand record shop at the Bollwerk, heavy on rare rock and blues LPs from 1964 to 74. The shop by the station now claims one of the world's largest and best sorted second-hand selections of records, plenty of them rarities, plus CDs and factory-fresh stock picked up from overstocks and liquidations. New arrivals land every day, so a rummage always pays. They buy small batches or whole collections, and there is an outlet, a DJ corner and a Discogs shopfront.
