Paul's Boutique on Mont-Royal Est takes its name from the Beastie Boys album, which is a reasonable summary of the stock before you have opened the door: rare and vintage vinyl weighted heavily towards hip-hop and old-school forty-fives. It sits a few doors from Aux 33 Tours and Freeson Rock, which makes that stretch of the Plateau the densest run of record shops in the city and the obvious place to start a Montreal dig.
