Paul Craine has run Payback since 1998, a small shop in St Nicholas Market given over entirely to reggae - Prince Buster to Protoje, with killer seven-inch pre-releases lining the walls and a budget singles box underneath. Bristol's relationship with Jamaican music runs through everything the city has exported for forty years, and Payback is where that lineage is actually sold over a counter rather than written about. The local banter is included.
