Permanent Records started in Chicago in 2006 and came to Los Angeles in 2011; the Roadhouse is what it became in 2019, when it took over the old Cafe NELA building on Cypress Avenue. It is a record shop, a full bar and a live venue at once - wood panelling, checkerboard floor, red vinyl booths, a large patio and a detached air-conditioned garage that doubles as a room to play in. Buying a record and staying for the band is the point of the place
