Plattenkiste began life as Ingo's Plattenkiste in Hamburg's university quarter and, after Ingo stepped away, found a new home on Gärtnerstrasse. Every facet of rock gets covered here: blues, stoner, alternative, punk, metal and classic rock, on vinyl and CD, new and second hand. There are always tickets for selected concerts and festivals behind the counter. Cineastes get a look in too, with a tidy selection of used DVDs and Blu-rays hiding the bargains and the rarities.
