Jim Horgan started Plugd in Cork in 2001 and has kept it alive through five different premises since - for years in the Triskel Arts Centre alongside its sister cafe Gulpd, and since 2022 in its current room. It is Cork's long-running independent, and a 2023 piece on the city's scene called it nothing less than Cork DIY's spiritual home, which is the kind of thing you earn by being the shop still standing after every move
