Poo-Bah has been Pasadena's source for underground hip-hop and experimental music since 1971, and it is one of those shops whose regulars end up changing the music rather than just buying it - Ras G, Black Monk and Ron Stivers were customers before they started the Poo-Bah label out of it in 2004. The racks lean hard into beat music, leftfield electronics and jazz that borders on both, and the counter recommendations are the reason to go in person.
