Rave Up opened on Hofmühlgasse in November 1987 and is still run by Werner "Shorty" Schartmüller and Doris Schartmüller, which after nearly forty years makes it one of the few shops anywhere that has never changed hands. Shorty drew the shop's logo himself. Indie, downtempo, hip-hop and electronic records, vintage and current, and by every account a room people go to in order to be in it rather than simply to buy something
