Record Boy opened in 1980 as a rock kissa - a cafe that served drinks and played records loudly - and turned into a record shop over the following four decades. It is up on the third floor above a Saizeriya, three minutes from Koenji station along the covered shopping street, and deals in hardcore punk and metal with a particular weight behind underground bands, plus CDs, shirts and memorabilia. A good place to look for rare Japanese punk. Closed Wednesdays
