Warren Warburton started Record Paradise at 100 Chapel Street in St Kilda in 1955, right at the changeover from shellac 78s to vinyl, which makes the business one of the oldest in Australian record retail. He later closed it and reopened in the nineties; Renae Maxwell and Paul Allen bought it in 2009, rebranded and moved it to Sydney Road in Brunswick, where it is now - new and quality second-hand records with a big Australian section, and the occasional in-store gig. Listed with its 1955 origin, but honestly: the trading has not been unbroken, and the shop today is a revival of the name as much as a continuation of it
