Records Galore started in its present spot on East Ponce de Leon Avenue in Clarkston, Georgia in January 1981 and is the oldest continuously operating business in the city. It was founded by the lifelong collector Michael Bell, who specialised in the music of the 1950s and 60s and particularly its solo singers, John Gary, Julie London, Bing Crosby and Elvis Presley, and the shop built its reputation on high quality rare and vintage collectible LPs and 45s.
