Recycled Books, Records and CDs opened in 1983 with a small collection of books and records in a 450 square foot storefront off University Drive, filled it beyond capacity within six months, and moved on to Oakland Street where it absorbed the units next door one wall at a time. In 1990 it took the space vacated by Kibler Office Supply in the Wright Opera House and has been a cornerstone of Denton's Historic Downtown Square ever since. It calls itself the largest used and rare bookstore in Texas, with vinyl records, CDs, Blu-Ray, DVDs and collectibles alongside half a million books, and buys from customers, estates and closing stores.
