Repressed opened on King Street in Newtown in 2002 and is the home of Australian independent music - DIY, punk, alternative and, in its own words, whatever is good and deserves to be heard. It specialises in punk, contemporary independent, metal and experimental but loves the lot, jazz and hip-hop and soundtracks included. Mostly vinyl, with CDs, cassettes, indie music magazines and second-hand books, and a real mission to push independent Australian labels
