Cafe Riptide in Braunschweig has been a meeting point for music, art and culture in the city for years: a cafe with a record shop in it, sorted into classic rock, doom, stoner and experimental, electronic and hip-hop, radio plays, jazz, pop and indie, punk, hardcore and metal, soul, funk, reggae, disco and ska, soundtracks and world music. It sells tickets, puts on readings and events, and releases records as Riptide Recordings.
