Rob Smith has run this shop in Hurts Yard for more than forty-five years, and it is stacked floor to ceiling with almost no organisation beyond a rough section for recent arrivals. That is not neglect, it is the format: you dig, properly, and the price of admission is that nothing is findable and everything is possible. If Nottingham record shopping has a figurehead it is Rob, and the shop has stayed the city's first stop for vinyl for four decades by doing the opposite of what retail advice would suggest.
