Rotor started in 1986 out of the work of Discos Esplendor Geometrico, the first Spanish independent label devoted solely to electronic music, which released 22 LPs between 1985 and 1989. It became the country's first mail-order catalogue for avant-garde electronic music and still sends members a free printed bulletin every month. From an upstairs room on Gran Via it sells ambient, electronic pioneers, experimental, industrial and noise, krautrock, dark and EBM, minimal synth, techno and electro, neoclassical and its own Geometrik Records releases.
