Rough Trade opened on Broad Street in 2014, its first shop outside London, in a three-storey Victorian building in Hockley. Records fill the ground floor; the first floor is a bar and a live room, which is the part that changed the city - it gave Nottingham a mid-size stage attached to a counter, so a band can play and sell the record in the same building on the same night. The stock follows the label's own taste: new indie, reissues and a wall of staff picks.
