Rubadub opened in August 1992 for a specific purpose: getting the electronic music coming out of Chicago and Detroit into the hands of people in Britain who could not otherwise buy it. Through the nineties it was one of a small number of shops - Hard Wax in Berlin, FatCat in London, Sonic Groove in New York - that between them pushed techno worldwide, and it has been the hub of Glasgow's underground ever since. Techno, house, dub and experimental electronica, alongside recording gear and DJ equipment, plus a distribution arm supplying shops around the world
