Semm opened in downtown Bologna in November 2009, started by Gianmarco Silvi and Monia Piazzi, who brought more than thirty years each in import-export, distribution, A&R, production and events to it. It is packed with vinyl, CDs and music DVDs - the latest indie and major releases, overstock and the cool labels - and doubles as a showcase room for Italian and international artists. A shop opened by industry lifers plays differently to one opened by fans, and Semm is the proof
