Seriosha runs his shop out of a room on Neptuno in Centro Habana, and what is in it is close to a working archive of Cuban music: Afro-Cuban jazz, rumba, danzón, bolero and salsa, a lot of it pressed in the 1950s and never leaving the island since. Irakere, Barbarito Díez, Chucho Valdés. Questlove and Gilles Peterson have both dug through it. In a country where the record trade effectively stopped, a shop like this is the reason the pressings still exist at all.
