Shabab Al Wadi Recordings has traded in Sharjah since 1985 and is one of the last cassette shops left in the United Arab Emirates. Its owner Abdullah Mohammed Khalili has built a collection reported at more than a million tapes, including recordings you would struggle to find anywhere else, which makes the shop less a retailer than an accidental archive of a format the rest of the trade abandoned.
