Neil Brown was selling vinyl off a Camden market stall before taking 94 Berwick Street in 1989 and naming the shop after the Velvet Underground song. It is now at number 75, its third address on the street, with CDs at ground level and the basement given over entirely to vinyl. It outlasted the rest of the Berwick Street hub - Daddy Kool, Shades, Black Market, Ambient Soho, Vinyl Junkies and the others are all gone. In 2003 Selectadisc's Brian Selby retired and Sister Ray merged with Phil Barton, who ran Rounder Records in Brighton.
