Smugglers grew, like most wonderful things, out of chance encounters in the musically rich seaside town of Deal, from sessions at the back of a pub to busking-led adventures across Europe, and the ethos existed before the label did. Today it is an independent label, record shop and bar and festival organiser on King Street, selling vinyl, its own releases by Cocos Lovers and The Magic Lantern, merch, beer and wine.
