Solar Myth opened in November 2022 in the rowhouse that used to be the Boot & Saddle, and takes its name from one of the many the Sun Ra Arkestra has gone by. It is a listening bar, a cafe and a performance space run with Ars Nova Workshop, and the front room is a proper if small record shop - racks of LPs and shelves of books on Coltrane, Brotzmann and the rest, next to the natural wine. Marshall Allen, who has led the Arkestra since Sun Ra died, treats it as a home room and plays there regularly
