Solo Records and Tapes has been buying and selling music since April 1982, when Lorna Provonsha and her father Dan Levitt, a popular local jazz drummer and business owner, opened the doors in Birmingham, Michigan armed with their own record collections. Customers dubbed the first shop The Little Green Building; in 2001 they moved to Royal Oak, and in 2022 Lorna moved two doors down the strip. They buy and sell vinyl, cassettes, CDs, laser discs, DVDs, Beta, Blu-Rays, VHS, reel to reel and music books and magazines, and if you have more than 800 pieces they will come to you. Look for the rotating dollar CD section, the 25 cent and dollar vinyl section, and 78s at a quarter apiece.
