Sonorama is on Bernard Ouest in the Mile End, a few doors from Phonopolis, and it is built for filling gaps rather than making discoveries - rock, jazz, soul, funk, disco, francophone and world music, new releases and reissues, deep enough that the record you have been missing is plausibly there. The distinguishing item is not a record at all: it keeps an enormous collection of vintage music magazines, which is the sort of thing a shop holds because somebody there cares rather than because it sells.
