Two DJs, Castro Moore and Nemo Ripoll, opened Sound Metaphors in 2015, and it deals in the thing Berlin is best placed in the world to deal in: second-hand electronic records from the nineties, in quantity. The eponymous label works the same seam, reissuing synthetic dancefloor productions of that decade, and has spun off sub-labels including Sound Metaphors 23, named for Spiral Tribe's Network 23 and dedicated to the UK free-party rave collective's catalogue. The shop left Kreuzberg on 30 June 2025 and reopened at Weichselstraße 22 in Neukölln
