Soundservice on Färberstraße in VS-Villingen keeps around 5,000 records in stock, mostly vinyl: jazz, rock, pop, hard rock and heavy metal, stoner, krautrock, soul, reggae, hip hop, house, Liedermacher, Schlager, chansons, country, 80s and classical, with special pressings, rarities and new releases landing daily. There is a standing shelf of rarities from the local MPS/SABA label, Oscar Peterson and George Duke among them. The other half of the business hires out light and sound rigs for parties and gigs, and the shop sells DVDs, blu-rays, books and comics besides. It buys records and runs its own record fair. Diggers come in from across the Schwarzwald-Baar district, Lake Constance, Alsace and the northern Black Forest.
