Stranded is the retail arm of Superior Viaduct, the archival label that started in 2011 reissuing San Francisco punk and has since gone into jazz, reggae, experimental and twentieth-century classical, plus contemporary records through its W.25th imprint. The first shop opened in Oakland in 2012; this one opened in 2016 when they bought Aquarius Records, the oldest independent record shop in the city, and kept the room going under a new name. It is named after Stranded In Canton, William Eggleston's 1974 film. A third shop opened in Manhattan, in Good Records' old storefront
