Stranger Than Paradise opened in 2018, started by three former record shop colleagues - Noreen, Phil and Sonny - and named after Jim Jarmusch's 1984 film. It sits inside the warehouse that holds Mare Street Market. The buying runs wide and deliberately unfashionable in places, from kraut and prog through to Americana and world cinema soundtracks, with new releases, reissues and signed books from boutique labels, and it has put out its own limited pressings with various labels
