Strictly has been independent since 1988, selling new and used vinyl, CDs and cassettes out of Madison, Wisconsin, with a second location in Cambridge. Used reel-to-reels and hi-fi gear share the floor and there is a hi-fi repair service behind it. The Strictly Record Club posts records out to subscribers, the staff publish their top ten albums of the year, and Record Store Day is run properly, with a documented wishlist process and a remaining stock list once the day is done. They buy records at either shop: phone ahead or carry them in.
