Suffragette on Sandy Bay Road in Battery Point, in a 1900s Edwardian building near Hampden Road, is a family-run shop built around one idea: music made by women, foregrounded rather than filed away, in the spirit of the movement it is named for. A record shop with an actual editorial position is a rarer thing than it should be, and this is one. No founding year is published anywhere we could verify
