Wally Bryan started the Supertone sound system in 1969 and went into record retail in August 1984. The Acre Lane shop has barely changed since, which is exactly why people go: originals and hard-to-find reggae going back to the sixties, alongside new and second-hand CDs, LPs, sevens and twelves, and a busy mail order side importing from Jamaica and the United States. Wally is the kind of shopkeeper who knows the obscure releases as well as the famous ones
