Swordfish has been the backbone of Birmingham's vinyl scene since 1979, and the list of people who have flicked through its racks reads like a festival bill - Dave Grohl, John Peel, Robert Plant, Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand. It is a city-centre shop rather than a destination one, small and densely stocked, dealing in new and second-hand across indie, rock, punk and reissues. Forty-odd years in the middle of a city that has rebuilt itself around it several times over.
