Taioba spent two years selling online, much of it overseas, before opening its first shop in the Bairro dos Ipês and becoming a record label along the way. The rule is strict: Brazilian music only, no international records at all, so Tropicália, MPB, samba, forró, regional, axé and frevo, psychedelia, jazz and instrumental, funk and soul, rock and soundtracks. It works as a meeting point as much as a shop, with an events diary built around local music. Open Tuesday to Friday from noon, Saturdays from 9.
