The Artform Studio is a hair salon with a properly curated record shop inside it, which sounds like a gimmick until you learn whose it is. Adrian Younge - the producer behind the Luke Cage score and work with Kendrick Lamar and Ghostface Killah - picks the records; Sherry Younge, a hairstylist, makeup and wardrobe stylist and photographer, runs the chairs. It moved up from the Arts District and opened on North Figueroa in April 2018, across from the Highland Theatre and next door to Stones Throw. You can read a book while your hair is done and walk out with the vinyl
