Michael Johnson spent forty years building a collection of books and records, starting on paper round money, and began selling it off at Feast, the monthly market in West Norwood. The stall did well enough that he took the lease on the Gypsy Queen, a pub by West Norwood station that had stood empty for six years and was falling apart, and opened the Book and Record Bar in August 2013. It still feels like the local it was, with the records and books running much wider than the postcode. Johnson contributes to the Rare Record Price Guide, which tells you how the pricing is done
