John Thompson opened The Record Centre on Wellington West in Hintonburg in 2011, selling a curated run of new and used records alongside new and vintage audio equipment - which is a more useful pairing than it sounds, because the people buying their first turntable and the people buying their four-hundredth record are the same customers a decade apart. It runs a label of its own as well. In 2022 it took a second unit across the street for online order pick-ups, The Record Centre Too.
