The Record Exchange on West Idaho Street in Boise has been steadfastly expanding Idaho's musical boundaries since 1977 and is the state's largest independent music store. New and used music and video, a cafe, a gift shop, concert tickets and a full programme of in-store events all run out of the same building, and it publishes a weekly top ten and named staff picks rather than a chart handed down by a distributor.
