Gary Farley opened Third Eye in Costa Mesa in October 2002 and moved it to Long Beach in 2011, onto Fourth Street's Retro Row where it has been ever since. Farley has been buying and selling records for twenty-five years and the shop reflects it. It is also one of the few rooms in the area that has kept putting on all-ages shows for local bands, which is the part of a record shop that does not show up in the stock list
