Toolbox has distributed and produced sound-system music since 1998 and sells it over the counter at 30 Rue Saint-Ambroise in the 11th. The ground it covers is the one most record shops skip entirely: freetekno, tribe, hardcore, frenchcore and speedcore on the four-to-the-floor side, and dub, jungle, drum and bass, UK garage, dubstep and breakcore on the broken side. Around 10,000 references in the bins, and the stock is deliberately all new - there is no second-hand section here. Being a label and a distributor as well as a shop is why the French scene is represented so heavily in the racks.
