Torn Light Records started in Northern Kentucky in January 2014 and, after a decade in Cincinnati, moved the shop to Chicago in January of 2024. The storefront sits at 1855 N Milwaukee in Bucktown, one block from the Western Blue Line stop, open every day from 10am to 7pm, and it doubles as an online distro specialising in jazz, soul, experimental, punk and metal, used and new. Stock runs LPs, 12s, 10s, 7s, flexis, box sets, CDs and cassettes, plus books, zines, magazines and prints, and they are always buying, in store or by house call.
