Veals & Geeks was opened by a Brussels digger known as Stan, on the strength of owning a very large record collection and no job at the time, and by 2018 The Vinyl Factory was describing it as ten years old, so it dates to around 2008. Its strength is stated plainly by the shop itself: more separate psych and prog sections than anywhere else in the city. The stock is pulled from everywhere - Italian horror soundtracks, Japanese experimental records, South American oddities, New Orleans voodoo soul - alongside kraut, garage and punk. It runs a label doing both reissues and new records, including a version of King Gizzard's Polygondwanaland. It has since moved off Rue des Pierres to Rue des Grands Carmes
