The Leiden shop of Velvet Music, a Dutch chain going since 1991 with branches from Amsterdam and Alkmaar to Rotterdam and Dordrecht. It sits in the city centre and carries LPs, CDs and DVDs new and second-hand, with the racks split by genre right down to Nederlands and K-Pop alongside pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, metal, soul, folk, country, blues, dance, soundtrack, reggae and klassiek. Merchandise takes up the rest: mugs, keyrings, buttons, posters, plus vinyl-care kit and For The Record storage. Pre-orders for upcoming releases are a serious part of the counter, with dates listed months out.
