Vintage Mio is Armando Cardoso's record store at 108 S. 6th Street, with an online shop running alongside the bins. Music was not his passion growing up: he spent his career in private banking as a financial crimes investigator until health issues in January 2020 pushed him out, and the small side gig of flipping records and collectibles became his primary income. Play testing music for live auctions turned into a genuine respect for records, and he has since travelled the US visiting stores and interviewing collectors. The stock is sorted into blues, hard rock and metal, country, jazz instrumental, gospel, pop and rock, alternative, indie and punk, R&B, soul and hip hop, soundtracks, box sets, imports and used. Donating to vetted non-profits is part of the business model, 100 percent of local record sales go directly to the artists, and from July 2026 the shop is recording private in-store performances to share with music lovers everywhere.
