2nd stop in Göttingen was Vinyl Reservat which looks a bit like Digger’s Paradise. Behind the counter I met Hans Philipp, who told me: “We offer the full range of music styles and have appr 40.000 records in stock, but it is not about quantity - it’s about quality. We have some new releases in the store, but our focus is on 2nd hand. Styles are rock/pop music starting from R&R, beat, psychedelic, progressive, classic rock, 60ties, 70ties, 80ties and newer ones. A good selection of jazz, swing, dixie and ragtime plus a country blues section, one of the best folk collections, soul/funk/disco, Hip Hop, Punk, Reggae, Krautrock, world music ranging from indian classical to libanese belly dance to greek rembetiko to name a few and some electonic music records too. Of course we have a classical music as well, ~ 8.000 records. I have a special intersst in african music, so we have quite a lot of african original pressing (mostly from nigeria, ghana and benin) and RE here in the shop. Labels like Analog Africa, Hot Casa and awesome tapes from africa.
