Vinyl Revival opened on Hilton Street in the Northern Quarter in 1997, and a good proportion of the shop is given over to Manchester bands from the sixties to whatever came out last week. That is a deliberate editorial position rather than a gimmick - in a city with this much back catalogue, racking it together turns a record shop into a local archive you can buy from. Small, central, and the easiest first stop on a Northern Quarter dig.
