The first Wax Trax opened in 1974 on the corner of 13th and Washington in Denver. Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher took it on and sold it to Dave Stidman and Duane Davis in 1978, then moved to Chicago and started the Wax Trax! label that went on to define American industrial music - so this shop is the thing that came first. It is the oldest record store in Colorado, with a deep catalogue of new and used vinyl, CDs and cassettes, and weekly in-store events with local DJs and live sets.
