KK Yeh played bass in the post-rock band Nipples and opened White Wabbit to sell the records nobody else in Taipei would stock. It is a shop, a label and a venue at once, and as a label it is one of the two or three that matter most in Taiwanese independent music - the route by which international indie reached a generation of listeners in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and by which Taiwanese bands got out. The shop dates itself from 2002 on its own signage; other accounts put the counter opening earlier, in 1997 or 1999, with the label formalised in 2002, so treat the year as the label's
